Postural Imbalance

Postural imbalance is always present when someone's neck or back is out of alignment so a quick check to see if someone in your family might have a neck or back misalignment causing them problems or a preventative measure particularly in children or athletes is looking for postural alignment you can also do a self analysis by looking in the mirror.

1) Check for ear level they should be level so if not there is a problem.

2) Check for shoulders being level, should be level.

3) Check for the hips or pelvis being level

4) Check for straight ankles looking from behind, calves into achilles tendon then straight into the foot no deviation in or out.

5) A vertical line from the ears to the shoulders to the hips and then to the ankles should be seen.

6) From behind making sure the heels are lined up check for anterior and posterior rotation of the pelvis and shoulders.

Normally postural correction can be rapid the shoulders and ankles are the hardest to correct,

If you send someone to have their posture correct the above observations will tell you if correction is occuring.
