We often hear "He's done his hamstring" so what can you do to treat and better still prevent hamstring injuries.
1) Have your posture/skeletal structure checked for balance before and after all training and competition particularly have yourself checked for anterior/posterior pelvic and shoulder rotations a skilled practitioner will be able to do this for you.
2) Have yourself checked for nutritional deficiencies that tighten muscles magnesium and general minerals,if deficiencies persist get yourself examined for malabsorption, this is also associated with chronic injuries because it weakens ligaments.
3) Have body PH checked acidosis underlies many strange muscle problems, chronic inflammation it even affects your moods.
4) Have your quadricep/hamstring strength ratio evaluated small changes in this during the season may signal problems.
5) Do a range of motion examination for your hamstrings changes in this can also be an early sign of hamstring problems.
6) Do pre and post exercise stress testing of hamstring strength and have correction done as necessary.
My treatment consist of evaluating and treating the above k use Applied Kinesiology to do this l use the following muscle repair techniques a) Origin and insertion
b) Strain counter strain
c) Fascial flush
l also evaluate the hips, knees and ankle for alignment as these also affect the functioning of the hamstrings.
Injury prevention is the key to keeping athletes preforming at their peaks
